Approximations

This artistic project brings together over 50 ink drawings and acrylic paintings on paper, inspired by a journey to the Colombian Amazon rainforest and to Leticia, the capital of this region and her mother’s hometown. The dense presence of the jungle in the images becomes a metaphor for the questions that emerge in her exploration of identity and memory.

The exhibition was first presented at Giraffentoast Gallery in Hamburg, and later traveled to Paris, where it was on view for a month at the Maison Heinrich Heine.

This project was made possible with the support of the Claussen-Simon Stiftung.
